Renamed Mahendragarh
Maharaja Narendra Singh of Patiala renamed Kanaud to 'Mahendragarh' in honour of his son, Mahendra Singh.

District Formed under PEPSU
Mahendragarh district was constituted under the Patiala and East Punjab States Union.
1966
Haryana Statehood
With the formation of Haryana, Mahendragarh became one of its founding districts.
